TANYA BURR'S "THE BEST CHOCOLATE COOKIES"

What a name to give to a cookie but it's totally true. They are probably the BEST thing i have ever made, hands down! I added caramel chocolate instead of dark chocolate and that was the best idea i made for this recipe. The caramel just oozes out and the chocolate melts in the mouth... YUUUUMM 😍 You obviously can mix different types of chocolate bars that make your mouth water in this recipe. I made 12 rather large cookies than Tanya's 10 large cookies. Of course you can make these into small cookies but that just misses the whole point of the chocolate chunks.

You can find Tanya's recipe on her website or her book- Love, Tanya. But if you're lazy like myself just keep scrolling down and the recipe shall appear.

PREP TIME: 20 MINUTES  COOK TIME: 11 MINUTES  MAKES: 12 LARGE 🍪

INGREDIENTS:
  • 200G BUTTER
  • 300G CASTER SUGAR
  • 1 LARGE EGG
  • 275G SELF-RAISING FLOUR
  • 75G COCOA POWDER
  • DASH OF MILK
  • CADBURY MILK CHOCOLATE BAR (200G)
  • CADBURY CARAMELLO CHOCOLATE BAR (200G)
  • NESTLE MILKYBAR (180G)

METHOD:
  1. Set your oven to 180 degrees celsius. Tanya's recipe is 200 degrees celsius but it depends on the oven you have.
  2. Place baking sheets onto your cookie tray. I used 2 large trays.
  3. Cream together your BUTTER and SUGAR. I used an electric mixer but you can use a hand held mixer or your hands.
  4. Crack in the EGG & mix.
  5. Stir in the dry ingredients (SELF-RAISING FLOUR & COCOA POWDER). Do not use a mixer. I find using a spatula or your hands are better.
  6. Add a DASH OF MILK if the mixture is looking dry. I find the mixture is always looking dry so this is a must.
  7. Break up all your CHOCOLATE BARS and add to the mixture. Use your hands to mix it in.
  8. Spread the cookies on the 2 cookie trays and give them a light pat down to help spread in the oven. Remember to leave space between the cookies as they do grow about twice in size.
  9. Place them in the oven and set your timer to 11 minutes. The cookies will look undercooked but trust me they are NOT. Let them cool down for 10 minutes on the tray or when they are able to hold their shape before you slide them onto a cooling rack for 20 minutes.

If you can't wait that long then just go for it. The chocolate will melt in your mouth instantly. BEST COOKIES EVER!!! Thank you Tanya Burr for this mouth watering recipe.

Happy Baking!!

Mich xx
